Our media centre is jazz enthusiast heaven with a collection of over 7000 jazz vinyl records, a CD collection, digital resources and the audio and video equipment necessary to access our library of digital and analogue jazz recordings. We also have rare audio formats within our heritage collections including tape, 16" WW2 transcription disks and wax cylinders.
Our volunteers are currently working hard to help catalogue the collection digitally so, you can get a taste of what we have at the centre. View our resources section to take a look through what we have catalogued so far.
We also have Vinyl players set up with headphones for private listening or musicians who wish to sit and transcribe. The smaller vinyl players are USB connectable so students can transfer the audio from vinyl onto a laptop if they wish.

WORKSHOPS, TALKS, CLUBS AND MORE
The Media Centre is one of our key venues for hosting talks, clubs and workshops. We bring in weekly crowds for our community-driven activities centred around music and film.
Are you a jazz enthusiast? Why not join our weekly record listening club: 'Listen In!'. Every Friday afternoon from 12 – 2 pm our volunteers programme an album from our collections to play on our superb stereo system. Discussions about the album are welcomed. See our events listing page to find out what we are listening to this week.
We often hold talks and lectures within the Media Centre. Our past events have included book launches, talks on personal recounts of jazz history, documentary launches and studies of jazz history. Find out more about our workshops:
