About the Event

Nick Tomalin
Keith Jarrett is a central figure in the jazz of the late 20th century, as pianist, composer and group leader. He led American and European quartets, and was also noted for his remarkable fully improvised solo concerts, represented on record by The Koln Concert on ECM (1975), the label's best selling release. Struck by serious illness, Jarrett has not performed in public for a decade.
Nick Tomalin will explore Jarrett's life and music in today's performance, drawing largely on his work in quartet format, alongside major saxophonists such as Dewey Redman and Jan Garbarek.
