About the Event
Join us for a session with bassist Yolanda Charles MBE as she explores how Caribbean culture has shaped her music experience. As a descendant of the Windrush generation, Yolanda brings insight into how her Caribbean heritage has influenced her musical journey. She will perform on the bass throughout the talk, using examples to enhance her anecdotes.
Attendees will also enjoy a sneak preview of her forthcoming book, which delves deeper into her parents' lives, her influences, and her upbringing. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A section. This event offers a thoughtful look into the British music scene, drawing from her distinguished career and unique perspective.
