About the Event
Adam Ramet has recently given the JCUK a working pianola- the mechanical device which plays a piano, from a paper 'piano roll', reproducing an original performance by a live pianist. Today he will demonstrate the device in a one-hour lunchtime presentation. The rolls feature actual performances by celebrated jazz pianists Eubie Blake, jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller and James P. Johnson. Admission is free.
