Dorian Ford: Our Little Trio

Dorian Ford made his debut at the JCUK last autumn as part of Dominic Ashworth's superb drummerless trio; his sensitive, inventive playing contributed greatly to that group, and we had to ask him if he led a group of his own. He does, and here they are...

Dorian studied jazz piano at the Berklee College of Music. winning the Chick Corea Masters Award in the process. He also studies classical piano, and has accompanied a wide range of contemporary artists. He now has seven CDs to his credit.

He's accompanied today by Mao Yamada on bass and Roy Pfeffer on drums; the group pays tribute to some of the most influential piano masters of the 50's and 60's, like Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, and Ahmad Jamal.
