Jazz 825: the Antony Kerr Trio with special guest Alan Skidmore

Anthony Kerr gave the JCUK audience a marvellous account of the history of jazz vibes playing on his last visit, before being joined by veteran British tenor sax giant Alan Skidmore for a short but spellbinding duo set. This time round, Anthony will perform with the rhythm section of Dominic Howells (bass) and Trevor Taylor (drums). Once again, Alan Skidmore will join the line-up during the second half of the afternoon, as special guest.

Anthony has performed with a wide variety of top British jazz players, notably in the bands of Georgie Fame and Charlie Watts, and singers including Jacqui Dankworth and Ian Shaw. He was voted best instrumentalist in the British jazz awards in 1994, and Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 1995. He combines performing with education, teaching at the Royal College of Music.
