Jazz Appreciation Group

Technology has always had a key role in the development of jazz, from the invention of recording techniques, to improvements in microphones that empowered voices and marketing of convenient replay media.  But computer technology opened new worlds of coordinated sight and sound and made them avaialble everywhere. Suddenly, it was possible to "see" sound itself in full colour, as well as seeing the artist who produced it. This event will review current innovations, and discuss what new capabilities will offer to the future of jazz.
