Live Music: Jazz825 presents: Enigma

Enigma are a straight-ahead blowing band, led by the impeccable, ever-inventive saxophone of Zak Barrett. Tony Gooderham and Dave Whiting - on piano and guitar respectively - are confident, inventive soloists, while there’s solid bass and powerful drumming from the rhythm team of Roger Curphey and Simon Harwood. Tunes will be called, a key will be agreed, a tempo set with a simple count-in and moments later… jazz is happening. Expect hard-bop classics, plenty of Coltrane, and an occasional ballad from this accomplished band of local stars.
