About the Event
If you enjoy the very best of saxophone playing then there is no need to say a lot as you will not get a much better line-up than this. Three of the very best performing together . . .
Alan Barnes: Multi-instrumentalist and a key figure on the British jazz scene since the late 1970s.
Derek Nash: Award-winning composer, arranger, record producer and engineer. One of the UKs busiest and best on tenor sax.
Vasilis Xenopoulos: completing the front line, one of the most accomplished Greek jazz musicians of his generation; a genuine representative of straight-ahead jazz.
Spike Robinson was an American jazz tenor saxophonist (1930 - 2001) known for his performance of ballads and the American songbook. He moved to the UK first in 1950 with the USA Navy as a musician, returned to the USA for 30 years, before settling in the UK in the 1980s.
