Notes from Underground

We are getting 2027 under way with a return visit from this inventive quartet led by pianist Vlad Miller, with Adrian Northover on alto sax, Les Booth on bass, and Dave Rohoman on the drums. They play their own original material, mainly composed by Vlad, which is in an accessible modern fusion style, with some influences from Vlad's own classical, East European background. Adrian Northover's sax is a delight; he's a hugely versatile player, heard at the JCUK in some 'free' contexts, but playing attractive written themes here, and offering solos with clarity and feeling.
