SONUS JAZZ PRESENT THE JAZZ JAM WITH MERRELL, VERMA & PEARCE

A welcome return to jazz in its most exciting form...the jazz jam!

This week, the Sonus Jazz Collective proudly presents The JCUK Jazz Jam led by the National Youth Jazz Orchestra’s premier drummer Adam Merrell who returns to play The Jazz Centre UK following his remarkable debut here during our lockdown live stream.

Adam Merrell, Jay Verma and Harry Pearce began a deep musical association in 2017 and have been playing regularly

since then in various groups as well as with their own band Morsyca. This lovingly developed musical relationship is evident in their joyful playing and the tight togetherness of their sound. The trio will be dedicating this performance to the late, great pianist Barry Harris; celebrating his several decades of highly influential contributions to jazz five months on from his death. 

The first set will feature Adam Merrell (NYJO,drums), Harry Pearce (bass), Jay Verma (keyboards and then after a short break, they will return to the stage for . . . well who knows what!
