Jazz Centre favourite Mick Foster (baritone sax) returns with his regular quartet, Dominic Ashworth, Tom Farmer and Tristan Mailliot, augmented with rising tenor sax star Jonny Ford.

Mick has a rich, refined sound on baritone sax, his main instrument. His improvisational skill has been described as ‘crafted and deeply melodic’ which perfectly describes the style of the regular quartet; playing an attractive mix of jazz standards and Mick’s melodic original compositions.

Jonny Ford is a saxophonist, composer/arranger, band leader, educator and multi-instrumentalist who recently graduating from the Royal Academy of Music with first class honours in jazz performance. Recent reviews of his performances have noted his ‘beautiful sound and sense of melody’, and his ‘lyrical flowing saxophone lines and bright compositions.’ His tenor promises to be a perfect foil to Mick’s baritone. Add Dominic Ashworth’s lyrical guitar and the solid bass and drums of Tom Farmer and Tristan Mailliot and the inevitable result is jazz of the highest quality.
