Derek Nash needs little introduction: he is one of the most popular sax men in the country, starring in the Jools Holland Orchestra and leading a plethora of bands of his own. He's joined by versatile saxophonist Simon Bates, who makes his debut at the JCUK today.
Simon is a captivating saxophonist whose soulful melodies and electrifying performances have entertained audiences worldwide. Simon weaves together elements of jazz, funk, and contemporary styles, creating a unique and exhilarating sound. Simon runs his own Jazz Club, Big Band and several small ensembles including the Simon Bates Organ Trio.
Today at Digby's in the Jazz Centre, Derek and Simon play the music of Gerry Mulligan and Paul Desmond.
