Spike's Place: Young Lions and Old Tigers

Many moons ago, the late, great Spike Robinson teamed up with Derek Nash in a two-tenor partnership which, acknowledging the not inconsiderable age gap between the two, was known as Young Lions and Old Tigers. Their recording under that name won a ‘CD of the Year’ award. Time has passed, as it does, and now Derek is forced to accept the title ‘Old Tiger’ as he teams up with a fresh young lion in the figure of James Allsopp, the BBC Jazz Award-winning sax star.
