Steve Waterman's Latin Quartet

Steve Waterman is one of the top British jazz trumpet players both at home and on the international scene. He began his career while studying at Trinity College Of Music, and since then has worked regularly on the British, European and International jazz scene.

He has worked with many of the top names in British jazz, including Graham Collier, Michael Garrick and John Warren; he toured with the Carla Bley Big Band, recording Big Band Theory and Goes To Church with Carla. He's Professor of Jazz Trumpet at Trinity, and combines live and recording work, leading a number of his own ensembles, with a range of educational work. His Latin credentials are of the highest quality: in 2002 he was invited to Cuba to perform in the Chucho Valdes Band, alongside some of the greatest Cuban instrumentalists.

The quartet includes our brilliant local drummer and educationalist, Mark Cecil, a driving force in his own right on the Essex scene.
