About the Event
Dave Jago, the hugely experienced local trombonist, formed a quartet for a special appearance at the JCUK last year to showcase his own library of original compositions: so successful was that afternoon that we have asked him back to repeat the experience. Knowing Dave, though, there will be plenty that will be entirely fresh this afternoon...

There will be a screening of “Frank Rosolino Quartet” from a TV performance on the Jazz Scene USA from 1962. Frank Rosolino was one of the most brilliant trombone stylists in jazz history. Performing mostly on America’s West Coast he worked regularly with the Lighthouse All Stars. His set consists mostly of standards: Yesterdays, Mean to Me, Lover Man as well as Thelonious Monk’s Well You Needn’t.
