About the Event
'Veteran' doesn't begin to describe Jack Honeyborne, who celebrated his 98th birthday at the Spice of Life in June '26 and makes his debut here at the JCUK today. He has played piano professionally all his life, and has an extraordinarily varied background in British jazz and light music. He was Vera Lynn's pianist and MD for nineteen years; he played in the first British bebop band, Kenny Graham's Afro-Cubists, and with Nat Gonella. His personal influences are Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans. Don't miss this legend of British jazz!
