About the Event
Rick Best is an Australian composer, pianist, arranger and band leader who heads up an orchestra with the suitably Ellingtonian name of Sweet Thunder.
Recently he completed a 50-year-long project -an interpretation of an episode from Kenneth Graham’s classic story The Wind in the Willows. The suite was premiered at the Gold Coast City Jazz Club in Queensland.
Rick’s dream is that the suite is thought to be good enough to be performed in the UK by another orchestra.
Rick’s brother Ron Best will give a presentation on the Wind in the Willows Jazz Suite, playing selections from the CD.
Entrance £5, with all money going towards the promotion of the suite in the UK.
