Raise £500 for Music Education in Southend-on-Sea this Giving Tuesday

'Giving Tuesday' occurs this Tuesday, 30th November and we are using the occasion to kickstart a fundraiser on Facebook with the aim to raise £500 to help fund a Schools Music Event.

Your money will be used to run a free-entry live music concert experience that introduces young school students to jazz music. The concert will be hosted by professional educators and musicians.

We recognise that it is events like these that young students remember as they develop through their education. Your donation may inspire some of those students to pick up an instrument and lay the foundations of a career or, a lifetime of enjoyment practising and performing music.

We are finishing our fundraiser on New Year's Day so whether you would like to donate to participate on this Giving Tuesday or help to make the new year of an aspiring musician, we appreciate any support you can give.

How will The Jazz Centre UK achieve this?

We have a strong network of teachers, professional musicians and have already worked with the majority of schools in our local area on educational projects. Through the COVID pandemic, The Jazz Centre UK has successfully spent thousands of its funding to help support students across Essex and Kent counties hosting jam sessions, rhythm workshops and online masterclasses. We cannot continue our efforts without your support.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global movement celebrated every year on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a great way for us all to come together and support the charity organisations and causes that mean the most to us.

Why fund a music education project?

Funding for music and arts education is on a decline and it is often left to arts charities like ours to help ensure that young musicians are given the opportunity to pick up an instrument.
